Lummus' VP of Business Development receives NCGA service award

We are proud to announce that Russell Sutton, Lummus Ag Technology Vice President of Business Development, is the recipient of the 2021/22 Charles C. Owen Distinguished Service Award from the National Cotton Ginners Association at the Annual Meeting of the National Cotton Council in Houston, Texas. Russell is shown receiving the ceremonial saw from NCGA President (and long-time Lummus customer), Curtis Stewart.

Russell Sutton, a Snyder, Texas, native and Texas Tech University graduate, has been involved with ginning his entire life, as his family-owned and operated a cotton gin. Over a 40+ year career, he has worked for many of the nation’s gin equipment manufacturers which have taken him all over the nation’s Cotton Belt and throughout the world. Having begun his career with Horn Gin Machinery, Sutton worked for Consolidated HGM and then Consolidated Cotton Gin Company before joining Lummus Corporation in 2006. Russell has recently assumed the position of vice president of Business Development, based in Lubbock.



In his award presentation, Curtis mentioned Russell’s unmatched willingness to provide technical knowledge and resources for the industry and his dedication to ensuring the long term viability of the sector’s future.

Russell is the 4th Lummus person to receive this award. Don Van Doorn, Joe Thomas, and Ross Rutherford have also received this distinguished award in the past.
